Schools Will Remain Closed In Manhattan Beach, Officials Say

The Manhattan Beach Unified School District has extended its school closure "for the remainder of the school year," district officials said.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Schools in Manhattan Beach will remain closed for the remainder of the school year, officials announced this week.

Manhattan Beach Unified School District extended its school closure for the remainder of the current school year, according to a decision from the Manhattan Beach Unified school board this week.

"The board members agreed that it would essentially be impossible to reopen the schools given the current recommendations on social distancing and safety requirements," according to a news release.

It's still unclear what graduation will look like.

"Graduation plans for Mira Costa seniors are still uncertain, a socially distant or virtual event could be possible as late as August," according to a news release.
