Shooting Leaves Man Wounded In Hawthorne
The shooting was reported near El Segundo Boulevard and Doty Avenue, police said.
HAWTHORNE, CA — One person was shot and wounded in Hawthorne Tuesday, setting off a police investigation.
Officers with the Hawthorne Police Department responded along with Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies to a report of a shooting about 1:45 a.m. in the area of Marine Avenue and Kingsdale Avenue in Lawndale.
"Upon contacting the victim, investigators learned that the shooting had occurred near El Segundo Boulevard and Doty Avenue in the city of Hawthorne," according to a Hawthorne police statement.

Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel took the victim to a hospital, where they are reported to be in stable condition.
Details surrounding the shooting were not released and the case remains under investigation, according to a Hawthorne police lieutenant who declined to reveal the victim's age or gender.
