South Bay Gears Up For Women's March Next Weekend

Participants will peacefully march to a local park for a rally featuring speeches by California Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi and others.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA – The Women's March South Bay will be on January 19 at 10 a.m. in coordination with the nationwide efforts commemorating the 2017 Women's March on Washington.

South Bay residents and surrounding communities will gather in the Ruby's Diner Parking lot located at 245 N. Harbor Drive in Redondo Beach and peacefully march to Veteran's Park for a rally featuring speeches by California Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi, South Bay Coalition for a Safer Tomorrow founder Liza Caso, and more.

“On January 19, people from around the country will unite in Washington, DC to make their voices heard,” Kristen Fabiano, organizer for Women’s March South Bay, said in a press release. “We will march across the South Bay in solidarity to advocate for the policies that matter to us, and impact women’s lives.”

It's been two years since the 2017 Women's March, which was the largest single-day protest in U.S. history, Fabiano said.

“We are marching to keep the momentum up until we see real change in the policies and behavior of our government," she said. "The ‘women’s wave’ is not going to subside anytime soon.”
