• STOLLER STRIDES AT MANHATTAN VILLAGE
Where/When: , 3200 N. Sepulveda Blvd., Manhattan Beach,Macy's Men's Entrance (south end of mall). Thursday, March 3, 9-10 a.m. Arrive 10 minutes early. Takes place the first Thursday of every month.

Why Go: You can take your baby and exercise! Great for any level of exerciser, this class includes Power Walking and intervals of body toning using exercise tubing and the stroller.

• MANHATTAN BEACH YOUTH ATHLETICS BASEBALL OPENING DAY
Where/When: American Martyrs Catholic Community Church and School, 1701 Laurel Ave., Manhattan Beach; Saturday, parade begins 9 a.m. at Valley Drive and winds its way to American Martyrs by 10 a.m. Ceremony begins 10:15 a.m. Mira Costa Marching Band will play "Star Spangled Banner." Introduction of 2010 Western Region Champion Senior League All-Stars.
Why Go: Fun for all ages and there's nothing like watching the first pitch of the season!

• MAJOR LEAGUE PITCH, HIT & RUN COMPETITION
Where/When: American Martyrs Catholic Community Church and School field, 1701 Laurel Ave., Manhattan Beach; Saturday, 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
Why Go: Boys and girls 7-14 can compete separately in each of the three categories: pitching, hitting and running. Competitors will be divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14. and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ball parks and the National Finals at the 2011 Major League Baseball All-Star Game. Competitors may arrive at any time during the event. It should take about 15 minutes per person to complete all three of the stations. All participants will need to fill out the attached registration/waiver form prior to the start of the competition.
