• SUMMER CAMP EXPO

Where/When: Joslyn Community Center Auditorium, 1601 Valley Drive, Manhattan Beach; Saturday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Why Go: Check out all of the great summer activities and camps offered through the city's Parks & Rec department. Registration for summer camps begins Monday, March 14.

• ADVENTUREPLEX OPEN HOUSE 

Where/When: AdventurePlex, 1701 Marine Ave., Manhattan Beach; Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m., 310-546-7708.

Why Go: Fun for the entire family. Class demos for kids 60 months to 12 years, and adults. Preview of classes that begin Monday, March 14.

Pricing: Half price on general admission. Then free to demo any class, talk with instructors, climb the rock wall, conquer the ropes course and more. $1 hot dogs.

• ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE 

Where/When: Parade begins at Pier Avenue and Valley Drive, Hermosa Beach; Saturday, 11 a.m. 

Why Go: Kids can watch or participate as local merchants, girl scouts, boy scouts, sports teams, school bands, community groups and city officials participate in the parade that fills Hermosa’s downtown streets with floats and music.

Where/When: , 1935 Manhattan Beach Blvd, Redondo Beach; Saturday, 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: Where else can you see cowboys and dance hall girls on an old west street. The L.A. Ballet performs a Western Symphony, Raymonda Variations (inspired by George Balanchine's admiration of Glazounov's music) and World Premiere (created by one of the country's best choreographers).

•  WINTER PAJAMARAMA 

Where/When: Manhattan Beach Public Library,1320 Highland Ave., Manhattan Beach; Monday, 7-8 p.m. Meet in the children's area.

Why Go: Come in your PJs for some family fun as adults and kids share songs, stories and art.
