MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Manhattan Beach Police Department crime summary.

From Dec. 14 to 20 there were:

  • 677 calls for service
  • 22 arrests
  • 16 traffic collisions
  • 62 crime reports taken

  • In the night between Dec. 15 and 16, thieves broke into and ransacked a home that was tented for fumigation, MBPD said. Police discovered a cut in the side of the tent and signs of forced entry at the front door. The burglars overturned the primary bedroom and jewelry was stolen, according to authorities. The investigation is ongoing.
  • On Dec. 19 burglars broke into a home while the owner was away. When the homeowner returned they discovered the primary bedroom was ransacked, they told police. Officers said they also discovered one of the bathroom windows was shattered and a Rolex watch was taken. The investigation is ongoing.
