Thieves Steal $1M In Footwear, Authorities Seek Information
Although $900,000 worth of the shoes were recovered, authorities are still on the hunt for the thieves that stole the footwear.

TORRANCE, CA – Authorities are seeking information regarding thieves who stole at least $1 million worth of footwear form a Torrance warehouse yard, although most of the merchandise was recovered. On Sunday night, a chassis container trailer full of men's and women's footwear was taken from the business yard, but authorities didn't disclose the location.
The trailer was recovered two days later in Whittier but all the footwear had been removed, according to the Los Angeles Police Department's Commercial Crimes Division. The multi-agency team includes investigators from various law enforcement agencies. Detectives rushed to a business in the 4400 block of Baldwin Avenue in El Monte after receiving a tip, and they recovered about $900,000 worth of stolen product, police said.
Anyone with information about the theft was asked to contact Detective Marc Zavala at (818) 832-7510 or Jeannette Santos at (818) 832-7511. Both are in the LAPD's Commercial Crimes Division.
