Threats On Bathroom Stall Lead To Torrance Teen's Arrest

A West High School student allegedly wrote a threat on a school bathroom stall wall. She was arrested on suspicion of vandalism.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA – A West High School student allegedly wrote a threat in a bathroom stall that "something will happen" at a Torrance school was arrested on suspicion of vandalism, police said Tuesday. The teenage girl's words posted no credible threat, according to investigators. She wrote them as a prank, hoping to have the school shut down for a day, police said, similar to the closure of Bishop Montgomery High School in Torrance last week.

School officials called police about 4 p.m. Monday after the words were found in a girls restroom stall, Torrance police Lt. Jeremiah Hart told Daily Breeze. The message, followed by a happy face, said “Today is Mar Feb 26 Monday sometime this week something will happen at West High School. I wouldn’t doubt this look out West.”

Her name was not released due to her age, the newspaper reports.
