Woman Killed When SUV Crashes Into Manhattan Beach Storefront: Police
The crash occurred Tuesday night.
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — A woman was killed inside a laundromat in Manhattan Beach when a Mercedes-Benz SUV crashed through its front door Tuesday night.
Officers responded at around 8:05 p.m. Tuesday to the Suds & Duds Laundromat at 975 N. Aviation Blvd. after receiving reports about a crash, according to the Manhattan Beach Police Department.
The driver drove onto the sidewalk and smashed through the front of the building, which had several floor-to-ceiling glass windows, KTLA reported.

One bystander said he heard a loud crash before people started running over to help.
“There was a woman and it looked like she was under the car,” Bryson Garcia told KTLA. “I saw her arms stuck between the car and a laundry machine.”

The victim's identity was not released by police.
The police department did not release the name or disposition of the driver of the SUV that crashed through the laundromat's storefront.
Police said they do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
