Actress Maura Tierney Hit While Riding Her Bike In Marina Del Rey
"ER" star Maura Tierney was clipped from behind while riding in a Marina Del Rey bike lane Monday.

MARINA DEL REY, CA — "ER" star Maura Tierney was hurt Monday when she was struck by a car while riding a bike near Marina del Rey.
Paramedics arrived on the scene, placed a neck brace on the actress and whisked her away to a nearby hospital. Tierney' was riding in the bike lane when her rear tire was clipped at about noon, sending her flying onto the pavement, according to TMZ, which published photos from the scene.
The driver who struck Tierney remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected as factors in the collision, according to TMZ.

News of the accident came as little surprise to cyclists who uneasily share the roads with LA's notorious drivers, many of whom took to social media to complain about the latest incident.
"Hollywood blogger wonders aloud how painted stripes did not provide a force field around Maura Tierney in Marina del Rey," scoffed Twitter user Peter Flax.
