• Redondo Beach moves forward with new Marine Mammal Care treatment center (dailynews.com) — Plans for a new $65 million Marine Mammal Care Center in Redondo Beach could strengthen rescue and rehabilitation services for sea lions that frequently strand along the coast, including in Marina del Rey. The expanded, oceanfront hospital would more than double treatment capacity, improve response to toxic algal blooms, and add public education spaces, while the existing San Pedro facility continues as a support site.
