Body Found on Highway Closes PCH, 10 Freeway
A death investigation prompted the closure of PCH and the westbound lanes of the Santa Monica (10) Freeway this morning.
All westbound lanes of the Santa Monica (10) Freeway in Santa Monica were closed early today for a death investigation.
The California Highway Patrol said an unidentified body was found in the 1200 block of Pacific Coast Highway around 3 a.m., with the investigation closing the freeway lanes at Fourth Street.
Santa Monica police Sgt. Mike Boyd said police were investigating whether the death was a result of a traffic accident, or a suicide from the nearby bluffs.

The lane closures were for an unknown duration, according to the CHP.
