The local real estate market

Hi Everyone!

What is happening with the local real estate market?

This has been an incredible last few months with all (all
but one) our listings receiving multiple offers and the same goes for all
buyers that we represent, they find themselves amongst others that want the
same property!

So why is that?

Well, there are a few answers to that , such as low
inventory, unbelievable interest rates, summer is here, the economy is showing
signs of improvement in many sectors (no matter what certain media says),
consumer confidence is higher than the last few years evidenced by the amount
of people dining out again and people walking the malls with bags in their
hands....and finally, we're tired of not living!

Next question: How long will it last? Well, no one knows for
sure... we are all aware of what is going on in Europe and other parts of the
world, the fact that all major lenders have held back from the market their
inventory of foreclosed properties and have stopped or at least slowed down the
foreclosure process on defaulted properties, the fact that the Fed is printing
money again which will result in inflation for sure, and of course it is an
election year....there are too many factors to really even guess!

In my opinion everyone needs to proceed with their lives,
cautiously but still live and enjoy life....if 6 months reserves used to be
enough, now shore yourself up for 12 months....Something I learned over the
last 4 years is to do what the banks are doing now, put a certain amount of
money away, shore yourself up and then ENJOY LIFE!! Whatever that means to you, go for it! DO IT! 

What do you think will happen with the market? What about interest rates?
