County Dog Park Coming To Marina Del Rey?

Residents have identified dog parks as high-priority projects and the county is interested in meeting the growing demands.

LOS ANGELES, CA -- The Board of Supervisors took a major step Tuesday toward allowing dog parks in unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County.

The number of dog parks nationwide has increased by 20 percent over the last five years, according to a 2015 report by the Trust for Public Land. But the county's Department of Parks and Recreation operates just one, at Crescenta Valley Community Regional Park in La Crescenta.

Residents have identified dog parks as high-priority projects and the department is interested in meeting growing demand for safe spaces where dogs can run off-leash.
