Gasoline Prices Continue to Go Down

Average falls to just over $4 a gallon.

    The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County fell today for the 40th time in 41 days, dropping a half-cent to $4.01, its lowest amount since Feb. 3.
   The average price has dropped 29 cents over the past 41 days, including nine-tenths of a cent Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The most inexpensive gallon of gas in Marina del Rey at midday Monday costs $3.92 for regular at United Oil at 811 Washington Blvd., according to gas buddy.
   The average price is 4.6 cents less than one week ago, 20 cents lower than one month ago and 23.6 cents below what it was one year ago.
