Jewish Studies Sunday Book & Discussion Group: Our Holocaust, by Amir Gutfreund

Amir tells his story of learning about the Holocaust

Our Holocaust tells the story of Amir and Effi’s experience of growing up trying to understand the Holocaust, and collecting stories from family and friends. The two of them end up collecting ‘relatives’ from this experience. With Holocaust survivors for parents and few other ‘real’ relatives alive, relationships operated under a “Law of Compression” in which tenuous connections turned friends into uncles, cousins and grandparents. The book discussion will be facilitated by Margarete Feinstein, Assistant Professor, LMU Jewish Studies. Event is free & open to the public. Light refreshments and riveting conversation will be served. Please RSVP by contacting Rhonda Rosen at rrosen@lmu.edu or 310-338-4584.
