The Kayak Club (Stand Up Paddleboard Too!) Creates Community in Marina Del Rey!
Kayak Club In Marina Del Rey, California Hosts Open invitation For Anyone Interested In Joining Community.
You may have noticed a bit more activity on the water in the marina recently. That’s because there is a new club building it’s community and wants you to join!
It all began August 2014, when founder, Inge Lindholm, started The Kayak Club, using meetup.com as a platform to attract members and openly invite individuals who wished to participate in a water based activity.
When asked about The Kayak Club, and why she took on this initiative, Inge explains, “Kayaking and Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) have always been extremely enjoyable activities for me - so I thought, why not bring a community of people together who enjoy the same things? It was important to set something up that allowed anyone with an interest to have the opportunity to join. Since then, the response has been incredible.”

Today, just 10 months later, The Kayak Club, has over 350 members, and continues to grow. “The community of members are responsible for it’s success and I can’t wait to see what happens next”, Inge concludes.
The club is committed to meeting twice a week to include Wednesday mornings and one weekend activity. Individuals are not required to have a kayak or stand up paddleboard. All equipment is provided for the members. Additionally, The Kayak Club invites all ages, experienced, non-experienced to join. Even dogs can get in on the fun!
