Loyola Marymount University Expands Silicon Beach Presence with New Playa Vista Campus
LMU's Playa Vista Campus will house graduate programs for the LMU School of Film and Television.

LOS ANGELES, CA -- Loyola Marymount University has leased more than 50,000 square feet of space for its new LMU Playa Vista Campus, expanding the university's so-called Silicon Beach presence, University President Timothy Law Snyder announced Friday.
"Through a long-term lease agreement with Tishman Speyer at The Brickyard Playa Vista, LMU will design learning and creative spaces in preparation for a fall 2018 opening," he said.
The Brickyard is named for the distinctive white-glazed brick exteriors of its buildings. The 425,300-square-foot campus will include offices, retail space, parking and other amenities.

LMU's Playa Vista Campus will house graduate programs for the LMU School of Film and Television. LMU will also offer spaces for academic and creative activities and events, "placing students and faculty members in the heart of L.A.'s tech innovation and creativity hub," a statement said.
"LMU Playa Vista Campus is a game-changer," Snyder said. "LMU is already a crucible of creativity, where world-changing ideas are imagined and formed. Silicon Beach is one of the world's fastest-growing startup ecosystems, an ideal counterpart for LMU as the definitive center for global imagination and its impacts."
