WESTCHESTER, CA — An investigation was underway Thursday into a vehicle- to-vehicle shooting that wounded a motorist on Howard Hughes Parkway in Westchester, police said.
The shooting occurred at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday near the Howard Hughes Parkway on-ramp to the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway, said Sgt. Scott Stevens of the Los Angeles Police Department's Pacific Division. To facilitate the investigation, the Howard Hughes Parkway ramps to the 405 were shut down for close to three hours.
A 32-year-old man was leaving a bar in the area, about two blocks from where the shooting took place, when someone pulled up alongside and fired several shots into the victim's vehicle, inflicting four gunshot wounds — to the legs, an arm and a hand, Stevens said.
