Marina Del Rey Middle School Receives Air Conditioner Upgrades
Playa del Rey's Paseo del Rey Natural Science Magnet and Marina del Rey Middle School are getting bond-funded air conditioning upgrades.

MARINA DEL REY, CA – Some schools in Marina del Rey and Playa del Rey are getting air conditioning upgrades through a $342 million bond measure was passed by voters. The Los Angeles Unified School District has 33,000 classrooms to prepare for the upcoming school year, which includes working air conditioning units according to ABC7, and now schools must find a balance between installing new systems or fixing older units before they become emergencies.
Playa del Rey's Paseo del Rey Natural Science Magnet will receive $4.3 million to replace boilers and HVAC equipment in the main campus building, according to Daily Breeze, and Marina del Rey Middle School will get $2.1 million to renovate the more than 25-year-old HVAC equipment in the gym and locker rooms.
All of the school projects in the South Bay are set to be complete by 2020, but some of them will be done as soon as September, according to Daily Breeze.
