Police Seek Bumbling South Bay Spa Robbers
A pair of robbers had to leave a South Bay spa empty-handed after an employee managed to escape them.

Police are asking for help finding two men who botched a robbery at a Manhattan Beach spa.
At 9:20 p.m. on Monday, two men entered Oasis Traditional Thai Massage and Spa, acting as if they had handguns in their waistbands and demanding access to the safe. However, the spa’s employee was able to run to another location and lock herself in an office, according to police.
The two suspects were forced to leave the spa empty-handed.

About a dozen other patrons and employees were at the spa during the attempted robbery, but none of them were aware the robbery was going on. However, a witness outside the spa saw the pair enter and exit, and offered a detailed description to police. One suspect is described as being roughly 40-years-old, 200 pounds, 6-feet tall and clean shaven. The other is also about 40-years-old, thin and clean shaven.
Officers arrived at the scene, evacuated the business of employees and customers and a perimeter was established. Officers from the Hermosa Beach and El Segundo Police Departments as well as the Long Beach Police Department’s helicopter helped search the area, but the suspect got away.
