Sailors Rescued After Boat Overturns Near Marina Del Rey

MARINA DEL REY, CA – A small power boat capsized Tuesday afternoon near the north entrance to Marina del Rey; two men were aboard, but neither sailor was injured. The boat was approaching the marina breakwater about 2 p.m. when a wave caused the vessel to capsize, throwing both men into the water, according to Sgt. Keyshanette Gipson, watch commander at the sheriff's Marina del Rey Station.

Rescuers pulled the men to safety and sheriff's department personnel righted the boat and towed it into the marina, she said.
