Sewage Spill Closes Some Marina Del Rey Beaches

MARINA DEL REY, CA – Beaches 100 yards up and down the cost of the Ballona Creek outfall in Marina del Rey have been closed due to a sewage spill, authorities said Sunday.
The 1,100 gallon sewage spill into Marina del Rey was from a blockage of grease in a sewer line, County of Los Angeles Public Health officials said.
Residents and other beach users were advised to stay out of the water until the areas of beach are cleaned and the advisory is removed, officials said, but dry areas of beach are not affected.
