South African Theater, 1980s-2000s

What: LMU students will perform a staged reading of Some Mothers’ Sons by Mike van Graan (2007). This performance is part of a series looking at three decades of South African theater celebrating the fall of apartheid while honestly exploring the challenges faced in the post-apartheid era. This reading will be preceded by a brief talk by Professor Kevin Wetmore on the challenges in post-apartheid South Africa, and in particular, the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
