St. Bernard Football Back on the Road
The Vikings will try to stay unbeaten Friday night against View Park Prep.

After giving Larry Muno something to celebrate in his first game as the head coach of St. Bernard High's varsity football team last week, the Vikings will try to give him another first on Friday night: a winning streak.
St. Bernard jumped in front of host El Segundo early and hung on for a 28-21 win in its season opener and the Vikings hit the road again, this time against View Park Prep of the Los Angeles City Section.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Jackie Robinson Stadium in Los Angeles.

View Park lost its season opener at La Jolla Bishop's of the San Diego Section, 35-20. The Knights went 12-1 last season and won the City Section Division III championship, beating Animo South Los Angeles 28-18 in the finals.
St. Bernard, meanwhile, finished 3-7 and sixth out of seven teams in the Del Rey League last season under previous coach Greg Dixon. The Vikings never won back-to-back games and ended the season with four consecutive losses.
Another win could earn St. Bernard a place in the CIF Southern Section Northwestern Division poll. The Vikings moved into the "others" category, just outside the Top 10, with the win at El Segundo.
