In his first two games this season St. Bernard High senior quarterback is showing why he was the Del Rey League passing leader last fall. After throwing for three scores and running for another in the Vikings' win at El Segundo last week, Smith tossed two more touchdown passes Friday as St. Bernard came back from a 13-0 halftime deficit to beat View Park Prep at Jackie Robinson Stadium in Los Angeles.
Smith and Joshua Hill connected on a 51-yard slant pass that gave the Vikings their first lead, 14-13, midway through the third quarter. Smith finished 11-of-29 for 155 yards and Hill had four catches for 74 yards in the intersectional game.
Devin Barnes scored St. Bernard's first touchdown on a 19-yard run early in the third quarter to pull the Vikings within 13-7. Barnes had 77 yards in seven carries and caught two passes for 20 yards. Devonte Singleton added 34 yards in three carries.

Smith threw to Bryan Rivas in the fourth quarter for the Vikings' final score, but Rivas missed the extra point. He finished with two catches for seven yards.
In addition to his big catch on offense, Hill also contributed on the defensive side of the ball. He led the Vikings (2-0) with nine tackles while Jalyn Williams added eight along with Singleton, a junior defensive back who also had a 65-yard interception return. Rivas had seven tackles and three sacks.
