WOW Airlines $99-And-Up Flights to Iceland, Europe Starts
While the costs start low, ticket prices vary depending on the schedule, according to airline representatives.

LOS ANGELES, CA - Icelandic airline WOW air's $99-and-up flights to Iceland officially began service Wednesday at Los Angeles International Airport.
The airline offers four flights a week connecting Reykjavik and Los Angeles. Passengers who pay higher fees that start at $199 can also catch flights to several European cities -- including London, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam and Stockholm -- but a stopover in Iceland is required.

The airline's founder, Skuli Mogensen, earlier this year called the introduction of flights out of LAX -- and in San Francisco -- "a game changer for WOW air and arguably the travel industry, making travel to Iceland and other European countries both easy and affordable from California."
The WOW air service at LAX proved in demand when it was first announced in January, with flights selling out within 24 hours, airline officials said today.

Mogensen, who was on board the first flight to Los Angeles on Wednesday, said feedback on the new route "has been fantastic, and it's clear that there is a lot of demand for a quality, low-cost offering between California and Europe on a year-round basis."
The LAX flights are served by three new Airbus A330-300s, which carry 340 passengers.
