• Newsom just put new limits on ICE. Here's what's changing in LA (lapublicpress.org) — New state laws limiting ICE operations were just signed that affect how federal immigration agents can operate across California, including representation from Martinez's own Assemblymember Anamarie Ávila Farías. The measures add taxes on private detention centers, restrict use of state property and shock-gloves, and tighten oversight of agents, while several tougher proposals were vetoed after pushback over law-enforcement cooperation and economic impacts.
