Bobcat Rescued From Contra Costa Co. Roadway

BREAKING: California Highway Patrol officers, assisted by personnel from Contra Costa Animal Services, brought the animal to safety.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA -- An bobcat lying injured on the side of a Contra Costa County roadway was brought to safety Tuesday afternoon by California Highway Patrol officers. The cat came to their attention when a report was received at 1:25 p.m. that a passerby has spotted some type of wildlife on Cummings Skyway, just east of Crockett Boulevard near Crockett Hills Regional Park.

"Upon our arrival, the wildlife we found was a beautiful bobcat that had injured its leg," CHP officials said.

With the help of Contra Costa Animal Services, officers safely rescued the cat from the side of the road.
