City Of Martinez Rebids Golden Hills Park Improvements
Improvements to the 7-acre park at the end of Bernice Lane off Blue Ridge Drive will now be completed by June 2020, according to the city.

MARTINEZ, CA — The city of Martinez has terminated its contract with the general contractor originally hired for improvements to Golden Hills Park, according to a city news release issued Monday, Sept. 23.
The 7-acre park at the end of Bernice Lane off Blue Ridge Drive has been closed since March 31 for construction.
City officials said they found it necessary to end the contract and are seeking new bids from other general contractors, which means a delayed timeline for completion.

General-contractor work will begin at the site Nov. 11 and will be completed by June 1, 2020.
According to the city:
"The construction schedule includes a month for anticipated rain delays. The contract with the vendor who will provide the new building has been executed and the modular building materials have been ordered. The contract with the tennis court installer has also been issued. The general contractor will be able to construct the building pad and assemble the modular building once the materials are delivered to the site. The tennis court resurfacing and turf restoration work will require warm weather. This work will be scheduled for early spring 2020."
