ConFire Rededicates Station 19, Welcomes New Reserve Firefighters
Station updates and more reserve crews represent the agency's commitment to residents of Briones and surrounding rural areas, ConFire said.
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District had a lot to celebrate Monday. The agency hosted an open house rededicating the updated Fire Station 19— located at 1019 Garcia Ranch Road in Briones — and welcomed 11 new reserve firefighters to the district’s ranks.
The updated station and new reserve firefighters represent the fire protection district's ongoing commitment to the residents of Briones and surrounding rural areas, according to ConFire Spokesman Steve Hill.
"Reserve firefighters, either on-duty at the station, or available locally for dispatch, will ensure timely responses to fire and EMS incidents in and around Briones and represent an important resource for rapidly attacking and controlling wildland fires in the area during fire season, Hill said.

In addition to updating Fire Station 19, ConFire purchased and equipped a new Type 6 wildland firefighting engine for the Reserve Program.
"E-619 will be the front-line engine for the station, which also houses a Type 3 wildland firefighting engine," Hill said.
