Contra Costa County Board Of Education Seeking Student Members

The board is seeking rising juniors or seniors to advocate on behalf of students and cast non-binding votes.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY — The Contra Costa County Board of Education is accepting applications from rising juniors and seniors to serve as student members for the 2026-27 school year.

CCBOE student members advocate on behalf of students. They can make motions that may be acted upon by the board, and cast preferential votes on all matters except those subject to a closed session. While preferential votes do not affect the final outcome of a vote, they are recorded in the minutes and cast before the official vote of the county board. Student members cannot participate or receive closed session materials.

The position is open to Contra Costa County public high school students, and comes with a monthly stipend of $250. Priority will be given to students who currently attend or have previously attended a CCOE school or program, or have an immediate family who currently attends or has previously attended a CCOE school or program.
