MARTINEZ, CA — Officials in Contra Costa County are testing voter equipment in the months leading up to the June 5 election.

Machines used to count vote-by-mail ballot, scanners for paper ballots and ballot-marking equipment are being tested for logic and accuracy, according to county elections officials.

There are five central count machines that will record about 600,000 vote-by-mail ballot cards and 300 ballot scanners.

County officials will host a public demonstration of voting equipment at 9 a.m. on June 1 in the Contra Costa Clerk Recorder Elections Office at 555 Escobar Street in Martinez.
