Crews Respond To Vegetation Fire In Martinez
Con Fire crews were on scene as of 3:15 p.m. Thursday.

MARTINEZ, CA — Firefighters were responding Thursday afternoon to a vegetation fire in Martinez. The second-alarm blaze is burning on Christie Road, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District said at about 3:15 pm. Thursday.
"Please avoid the area to allow emergency vehicles access to the area," Con Fire said.
As of about 3:30 p.m., the fire near Franklin Canyon Golf Course was at least two acres in size, according to Con Fire Spokesman Steve Hill.

The fire started in grass and was burning into brush west of the city of Martinez in a rural area south of state Highway 4, Hill told Patch.
