Day of the Day Celebrations at Alhambra Cemetery

Dia de los Muertos, a popular Mexican cultural event, combines the Aztec and Roman Catholic traditions of celebrating the lives of deceased loved ones. It is believed that the soul returns home during November 1 and 2 to visit with family and friends.

Families are invited to celebrate the lives of local citizens buried at the Alhambra Pioneer Cemetery with activities.

There will be a headstone hunt that incorporates math, history and observation skills.

Day of the Dead crafts will also be provided; folding paper marigolds, creating banners and coloring sugar skull pictures.
