Earthquake Rattles Parts Of East Bay, North Bay

CROCKETT, CA — An earthquake struck near Crockett early Monday morning, rattling parts of the East Bay and the North Bay, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The 2.6-magnitude quake was recorded at 4:15 a.m. and was centered 1.2 miles north-northwest of Crockett, 3.1 miles south-southwest of Vallejo and 13 miles west-northwest of Concord, the USGS reported.
The quake struck at a depth of about 6 miles and was felt in both Solano and Contra Costa counties, according to the USGS. People in Carquinez Strait-area communities including Benicia, Vallejo, Martinez, Pinole and Port Costa reported experiencing the quake.
