Earthquake Shakes East Bay, North Bay

An earthquake at 5:34 p.m. Friday near Rodeo was felt in cities in the East Bay and in the North Bay — did YOU feel it?

EAST BAY, CA— An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.9 struck the East Bay early Friday evening and was felt in cities in both the East Bay and North Bay, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake struck at 5:34 p.m. and was centered 2.5 miles north of Rodeo in unincorporated Contra Costa County, USGS reported.

It was centered 3.1 miles from Crockett, 3.1 miles from Vallejo, 4.3 miles from Hercules and 13.7 miles from Berkeley, according to USGS.

Folks in American Canyon, Benicia, Vallejo, Hercules, Pinole, Martinez, Crockett and Concord were among those who reported feeling the quake — did YOU feel it?
