"In Their League" - postcards in the 1911 suffrage campaign

A major campaign strategy in the early 1900s was the use of 'dear friend' cards -- postcards with a campaign message sent to friends and family of a supporter.  Historian Darlene Thorne will share her collection of vintage suffrage campaign postcards at the fourth in a series of lectures celebrating the centennial of California women receiving equal suffrage on October 10, 1911.

The series is co-sponsored by the Contra Costa and Martinez historical societies and underwritten by a grant from Chevron Federal Credit Union.
