A special Signed Mother Goose Time will be presented at the Martinez Library on the last day of July. In addition to our usual Tuesday morning romp, Kim Busichio and Michelle Guthrie will be on hand to add an extra dimension, signing the stories of Bunny Blue and Cornelius P. Mudd as we read aloud.
Kim and Michelle will be signing in SEE. Kim explains that SEE "means 'Signing Exact English' which is just as it sounds -- there are signs for every English word." Like ASL, it "use[s] the body and facial expressions to add to the hand movements to create the concept of what is being conveyed."
Come hear and see the stories of Bunny Blue and Cornelius P. Mudd as we tickle and bounce our way through the morning. Learn some words in a new language while we listen to some warm, familiar tales.
