The Contra Costa Public Law Library, with branches in Martinez, Richmond and Pittsburg, has resources to assist you in fighting your traffic ticket, including books written for the non-lawyer, such as: “Fight Your Ticket & Win in California,” which discusses:
· How to determine whether your ticket is beatable
· What are the steps to fighting a traffic infraction, including how to obtain a copy of the police officer’s notes

Our librarians can show you how to access traffic forms (http://www.courts.ca.gov/forms.htm?filter=TR) from computers in the Library or from home.
The Library also has information about the Traffic Amnesty Program in Contra Costa County (http://www.cc-courts.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=Page.ViewPage&pageId=6786), including the Contra Costa County Amnesty Program Application Form. Under this Program, in effect until March 31, 2017, you may be eligible to have your debt for unpaid tickets reduced and your license reinstated. Information about whether you are eligible for the Traffic Amnesty Program can be found at http://www.courts.ca.gov/trafficamnesty.htm.
