Heads Up, BART Riders: Expect Delays All Day Due To Fire Debris
It may be Saturday before normal service is fully resumed. [Breaking]

BAY AREA, CA – Small debris fires on BART tracks in San Francisco this morning will cause train delays throughout the day, according to BART.
The problem started when a track component failed at about 4:45 a.m., igniting the fires between the 24th Street Mission and Daly City stations this morning, BART officials said.
The problem caused large delays throughout the BART system.

As of shortly before 7 a.m., BART was restoring normal service south of Daly City, but one track will remain closed between the 24th Street and Daly City stations until the end of the day, BART spokesman Taylor
Huckaby said.
Damage to the automatic train control system there will need to be repaired overnight and normal service is expected to resume on Saturday, Huckaby said.

BART officials said anyone traveling through that area, including to San Francisco International Airport, should plan on delays of up to 8 minutes, BART officials said.
