Hwy 4 To Close Overnight At Hwy 680 For Roadwork

MARTINEZ, CA — Transportation officials are planning to close state Highway 4 in both directions at the junction with Interstate Highway 680 Friday night to work as part of a public safety improvement project, according to a statement from the Contra Costa Transportation Authority.

The closure will take place from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. on a total of nine nights, from Friday night through Thursday, Aug. 29.

Not all of the closure dates are consecutive, however. More closures will take place Sept. 3 and 4.

Detours will be in place, but for early-morning drivers who prefer to avoid surface streets Highway 4 should reopen between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m.
