League Of Women Voters Team Up With County For Elections

Several televised roundtables and forums planned to aid in understanding issues and hearing from candidates in Contra Costa County.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA – The Contra Costa County elections department has partnered with local chapters of the League of Women Voters to present a series of more than three dozen televised roundtables and forums to help inform voters about issues and candidates that will appear on their ballots in November.

"Decisions made at the local level have the greatest impact on our daily lives," Registrar of Voters Joe Canciamilla said today in a statement. "Without this program, voters likely might not have any other chance to see and hear from these candidates."

Shows produced as part of their election preview began premiering today, both online as well as well on Contra Costa Television. Reporters from KCBS, KTVU and ABC7 will be joined by Alan Wang - a former journalist now working as a spokesman for the county.
