Man Accused Of Fatal Martinez Shooting Found Not Guilty
Kendrick Cortez Barfield, 42, was accused of the murder of 32-year-old Paul King.

MARTINEZ, CA -- A Richmond man accused of a fatal 2016 shooting was found not guilty by a Contra Costa County Superior Court jury today, according to prosecutors.
Kendrick Cortez Barfield, 42, was accused of the murder of 32-year-old Paul King in the 200 block of Gertrude Avenue in Richmond on July 19, 2016.
Police found King lying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds when they responded around 9:45 p.m. that night. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators identified Barfield as a suspect and arrested him a few days later in a Richmond apartment.
Defense attorney Sarah Eisenhart, with Contra Costa County's alternate defender program, did not immediately respond to a request for comment on her client's behalf.
