Man Allegedly Breaks Into Martinez Home

Police said the victim called 911 and told police she confronted a man who allegedly entered her home through a window.

MARTINEZ, CA -- A Stockton man was arrested Friday morning in Martinez on suspicion of burglary after he allegedly got into a home through a window and stole a purse and a large sum of money, police said. At about 7 a.m., officers went to the 2800 block of Castro Street after someone called to report a burglary happening.

Police said the victim called 911 and told police she confronted a man who allegedly entered her home through a window.

The man, 48-year-old Paresh Patel, allegedly ran away before officers arrived, but officers found him near Estudillo Street and Shell Avenue.

Police allege they found Patel with about $600 of stolen money as well as the victim's identification and credit cards.

Police took the victim to Patel's location where she identified him as the person who allegedly burglarized her home. Officers arrested Patel and took him to the county jail.
