Martinez Community Foundation Accepting Grant Applications

If your non-profit's focus is community services, cultural celebrations, economic development, education or the environment ... apply!

Projects or programs that are located in, or which primarily serve Martinez and its residents are encouraged to submit grant applications for the spring 2015 grant review by the Martinez Community Foundation (MCF) Board of Directors.

Applications must be received by March 15, 2015.

Established in 1993, the Foundation has provided over $575,000 in grants to projects and programs that benefit the community and the people who live and work in Martinez in the foundation’s areas of focus – community services, cultural and community celebrations, economic development, education and the environment.

“The Foundation is committed to helping the Martinez community become even better,“ said Stuart M. McCullough, MCF Board president. “We carefully consider how best to distribute the funds so as to provide benefit to the greatest number of people, and to have a lasting effect. We are pledged to leaving a legacy. We are unwavering in that effort.”

The MCF Board awarded nearly $25,000 in grants in 2014 to such programs and projects as the Contra Costa Chamber Orchestra, Contra Costa Crisis Center, Contra Costa History Center, Junior Achievement, Loaves and Fishes, Main Street Martinez, Martinez Early Childhood Center, New Leaf Collaborative and Worth a Dam.

The Foundation does not award grants to individuals, to for-profit organizations, new or start-up organizations, nor may grants be used for research, administrative or operating expenses, or for sectarian religious functions. Not-for-profit organizations must have current federal tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status.
