Martinez Compost Giveaway: Residents Can Get 30 Gallons Free
Martinez residents are invited to pick up some free compost Saturday.
MARTINEZ, CA — Martinez residents can take advantage of another free Compost Giveaway Saturday, March 23. Residents who bring ID showing their Martinez address can receive up to 30 gallons per household, the city said in a news release.
The giveaway runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 111 Tarantino Drive, near the Martinez Yacht Club and Marina Swap Meet.
Residents are asked to bring their own containers — 5-gallon buckets are preferred — which Republic staff will be on site to fill.

The city and Republic Services are able to host the free event because of the success of the Organics Recycling collection program.
Styrofoam blocks or containers can be brought to the event to be recycled. The Styrofoam must be clean, and no packing peanuts will be accepted.
