Martinez Water Main Breaks; Traffic Delays Possible

MARTINEZ, CA -- Crews are working to repair a 13-inch steel water main that broke this morning in Martinez, according to city officials. The break was first reported just before noon Tuesday at Blue Ridge Drive and Reliez Valley Road.
City public works officials said no one has reported losing service and there are no health concerns.
The pipe that broke was installed in the early 1970s and was set to be replaced in the next two months. A contract has been awarded for the replacement, according to public works officials.

Crews should have the main repaired by about 6:45 p.m. Residents and visitors may experience some traffic congestion at the intersection.
