Officers Chase Stolen Vehicle Through 2 Counties, Police Say
The CHP took over the wild pursuit once it made it to the Tri-Valley area, police said.

MARTINEZ, CA — Police in Martinez chased a driver in a stolen vehicle through several East Bay cities this afternoon. The pursuit started in Martinez just after 1:30 p.m. after officers were alerted to a stolen vehicle on State Route 4, which was detected by city’s the Automated License Plate Recognition Reader, according to Sgt. Kevin Busciglio.
Officers pursued the vehicle toward Danville, San Ramon and Dublin on Interstate 680 to Interstate 580 where they relinquished the pursuit to the California Highway Patrol, Busciglio told Patch.
A CHP helicopter crew responded to assist, however authorities lost sight of the vehicle as it headed westbound on I-580. The suspect and vehicle remain at large, according to police. No other information is available.
