A very funny, well designed comedy about romance, love and family. Sarah is a nice Jewish girl whose parents want her to get married to a nice Jewish boy. Her problem is that her boyfriend is not Jewish, but she tells her parents that she is dating a Jewish doctor. When they insist on meeting him she hires an escort service to send her a Jewish date to pose as “Dr. Steinberg”. They send instead Bob Schroeder, an aspiring actor who agrees to perform the impersonation. He is extremely convincing and Sarah’s parents are completely delighted and taken in by it all and can’t wait till he becomes a member of their family. Playwright James Sherman’s blend of farce and insight to family values makes for a hilarious and fun evening of theater.
